Performance

The X3 is a small crossover that is offered with two powertrains. These are a 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder system that produces 248 horsepower and a 3.0-liter, V6 mild-hybrid system that gives you 382 horsepower. The X4 is a small crossover coupe available with these same engines. In the midsize X5 crossover SUV, you will have three powertrain options across the trim levels. The base X5 trim has a turbo 3.0-liter, V6 engine that gives you 335 horsepower. A mid-level plug-in hybrid V6 is also available, and it produces 389 net horsepower. The most powerful X5 engine is a 4.4-liter turbo V8 system with 523 horsepower.

Appearance

Visually, these crossovers are easy to differentiate on the road. The small X3 stands confidently upright. It boasts clean accent bars through the sides and hood, scalloped headlights, and a two-part grille with vertical bars. The X4 is a coupe crossover with a raked roof and a hatchback-style liftgate. Its sporty look is defined by a long, powerful hood and aggressive, flared headlights and deep accents through the side panels. The X5’s profile is similar to the X3’s, but this is a larger vehicle. It has more defined side haunches, a taller grille, and larger, LED-enhanced headlights.

Features

As you review these models, you will find a few additional features. However, at different trim levels, all models are offered with a premium Harman Kardon audio system, a heated steering wheel, heated seats in the first and second rows, a wireless charging pad, a surround-view camera, and many more other features. The X4 adds more speakers to its sound system, a leather dashboard, a video drive recorder, and other equipment in select trims. The X5 may come with upgraded front seats with a massaging function, a third row of seats, a four-zone climate management system, and more.
