What's New for the 2023 BMW X1?
The X1 kicks off BMW’s impressive line of crossover SAVs. For 2023, this compact crossover shows off fresh styling and a few new features as the next generation is introduced. Specifically, the front and rear ends of the X1 have a refreshed look. This year’s X1 also is 1.7 inches longer than its 2022 counterpart. As a result of this change, the 2023 X1 has more cargo and seating space. The X1 continues to have a kidney-style grille and a staggered design in the LED headlights. While this is a smaller crossover, it has confident dimensions with exquisite sculpting through the sides.
Inside the cabin, the 2023 X1 now comes with a glass-covered, 10.25-inch digital instrumentation panel. The driver-centric, 10.7-inch touch display screen and the full center stack have been restyled. In 2022, the AC system and presets were loaded into the stack, and now they are integrated into the infotainment system. In addition, the cabin’s iDrive controller knob has been deleted. Other new features for the 2023 model year are augmented reality for the navigation system, hands-free driving, and video recording. The X1 now also comes with wireless Android Auto, which is offered in addition to wireless Apple CarPlay from last year’s model. Now-standard safety features include a blind-spot warning and safe-exit assist.
These features are added to the many carryover features from the prior model year. Some of these are remote engine start, heated seats, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a Harman Kardon sound system, and more.
Under the hood, the X1 remains unchanged. It pulls 241 horsepower from a four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter engine. All-wheel drive and a dual-clutch, seven-speed auto transmission are included. Select optional packages add an adaptive suspension, shifting paddles, and summer performance tires.
