What's New for the 2023 BMW iX?
In 2022, BMW introduced the all-electric iX to its lineup. With its commanding style and modern features, this midsize crossover has garnered plenty of attention among auto shoppers in the Fairfax area. Last year’s iX was offered with one trim level, and the 2023 model year introduces the top-of-the-line M60 trim. The carryover trim has a 516-horsepower, dual-motor system with all-wheel drive and a 288-mile battery range. The M60 trim raises this to 610 horsepower. In addition, the Dynamic Handling options offered for the base trim are standard for the M60. These mechanical features are four-wheel steering and an adaptive air suspension.
The standout design of the 2022 BWM iX is unchanged for the 2023 model year, but there are a couple of trim-specific differences that you should be aware of. The iX continues to have an edgy design with crisp, triangular air vents and a tall, kidney-style grille. The LED headlights are razor-sharp for an added touch of personality. At the base level, the iX comes with a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof with tinted glass, and 20-inch wheels. The M60 trim also gives you 21-inch wheels, performance or all-season tires, and soft-close doors.
The modern cabin design is unchanged between 2022 and 2023. The base trim continues to have the same appealing features, including a curved, 12.3-inch digital driver’s screen and a 14.9-inch central display screen for the iDrive 8 system. Other base-level features include a lane departure warning, parking sensors, an auto parking system, wireless Android Auto with Apple CarPlay, a wireless device charging pad, six USB ports, a navigation system, and synthetic leather material. Equipment that is optional for the base trim and standard for the M60 includes an interior camera, massaging front seats, a Bower & Wilkins sound system with 30 speakers, wood veneer, and a wireless hotspot.
