    I just wanted to provide you with some feedback about my wonderful car buying experience provided by Petr Mastny over this past weekend. After visiting Alexandria, Silver Spring, and Sterling, I stopped by to drive a particular 535 and 550 that you had in stock. I consider myself a "car guy" and, between cars I buy for myself and those I buy for my wife, this is my 7th car purchase since 2006. I've seen the entire range of different types of sales associates -- a few rare good ones and a lot of really bad ones. This is my first BMW, and my experiences at the other local BMW dealerships was similar to my last purchases -- some bad, most just mediocre.

    Petr took the time to walk me through what made him passionate about the BMW brand and what he found useful, novel, or interesting about all possible features. I don't need someone to read the manual to me, or give me canned memorized pitches on the features and what's different between brands and models. As I've found, I can get that pretty much anywhere. Petr, however, truly loves the cars he sells and it shows. While trying to decide on options, colors, and other choices, I always got Petr's honest opinion, even when it was different from my own. Throughout the process he was knowledgeable, personable, and sincere. For me, that's an extremely rare thing to find when searching for a new car.

    At the end of the process, I had a choice to make in where I wanted to purchase my vehicle -- all 4 dealerships were the same on price, and two were more convenient in a lot of respects. At the end of the day, I wanted to do business with your dealership because of Petr's work and attention. I truly valued the experience and I wanted to thank you and let you know of his great work.

    I recently leased a 2011 335XI at your dealership. Our decision to lease the 335XI from Fairfax came down to two factors. One factor was obviously the deal, but just as important was the courteous and informative service provided by James Duerbeck. I would like to commend James for his beyond excellent service he provided us during the leasing experience.

    Test Drive

    During our test drive, James pointed out features on the 335 that we had little knowledge of and allowed us to "experience" the joys of driving a BMW. He also took the time to take us to your service and holding lots to point out different 335 models. James' extensive experience and knowledge of the BMW product line was insightful and educational. Our previous test drives were abbreviated and not very informative. The test drive experience with James is the now the standard we will use to rate all other test drives.


    Lease and "The Deal"

    James was very informative of the advantages and disadvantages of leasing or financing a vehicle. He explained advantages to leasing that we had little knowledge of. When it came to the deal, James worked with us to provide a superior vehicle to your competitor with favorable lease terms. We especially liked his recommendation to go with the M Performance Package.

    Delivery

    James kept us informed on the status of the vehicle since it was not yet delivered from the port. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, he spent a generous amount of time explaining the features of the vehicle to us. He assisted us in setting up our phones, garage door opener, satellite radio, transferring over HD radio presets from our 2009 328, navigation, and the 1-6 shortcut buttons, In fact he spent so much time with us the financing office had to call him twice to request us for signing. To us, spending the time with us is a difference maker. Most sales advisors are more than ready to quickly send customers off and move on to the next deal.

    Post Delivery Questions

    James spent the time with us post-delivery to answer additional questions we had. We truly appreciated the time he spent with us. He also downloaded our music collection from our 2009 328 and assisted in uploading the collection in the 335XI.

    James is an important asset to your sales team and the BMW family. Again, we would like to commend him for his service and just say "thanks."

    Dear BMW of Fairfax I recently purchased a pair of wiper blades from the BMW Service Center and received outstanding service by Richard Redfearn. In addition to filling my order Richard took the time to replace the old wiper blades and install the new ones on my 2005 BMW 3-Series. He was very courteous and also detail-oriented. After replacing the last wiper blade Richard inspected the installation and found that one of the wiper blades did not lie flat on the windshield--although it was correctly mounted. Richard fixed the problem by gently bending the blade so that the entire length of the rubber touched the windshield. In addition Richard answered my questions about keeping my car clean and also shared his expertise on how to remove a cement-like mixture which had dripped from a crack on the ceiling of the parking garage onto my windshield. I really appreciated Richard's assistance and would like to request that BMW of Fairfax recognize his hard work and superb customer service.

    My 2000 M Roadster was in your shop April 11,2011 for a pre-arranged visit

    with Dent Wizard. Frankly my problem is not with your service and actually there

    really is no problem, however Michael Choung did such a great job I wanted to pass

    that information on to you. I regret it has taken me so long in my response as the survey

    has closed but I kept in in the back of my mind to address.

    When I arrived the dent wizard rep was not expecting me to stay for work to be

    done as the call center neglected to make that clear in the appointment. Cannot remember

    who I spoke with but she was in a bad mood, but you know who cares! We all have our stuff

    we all want to be paid more and we all want to be younger.A reminder that the streets are full of people

    needing work and willing to work may help those with these behaviors better understand.

    It would have been great if she had made that information available to the dent wizard rep

    but Michael came out to help. What exactly did he do that was so great?

    a. Looked at me when speaking

    b. Understood the problem and the distance I drove from DC(why I wanted to wait) so he arranged a loaner

    c. Kept me in the loop about my car and recommended repairs

    d. gave excellent clear advice as to a plan of what to fix

    e. Did not have an attitude as if he was doing me a favor nor did he mind if I called more than once or left

    more than one message in his mailbox.

    f. This is the kicker-presented a detailed write-up separate of the receipt with exactly what was done, his

    pleasure in serving me with a business card attached. Wow!

    Now this calibre of service to some may be no big deal, and to some it may be what they already have in place

    and there are of course the entitled ones. What I am saying is this was the best experience I have had at

    Fairfax in a long time and I want you to know about it and I truly hope I will receive service at least close

    too this on another visit if not the same calibre. The dent wizard guy was genius, removed all the dents in

    my hood for my trouble, I came in to remove 3 and he found more. What an eye! Again understood there

    was a problem-what is the problem? He was not told I was coming to get the work done and planned to wait

    and of course came from DC. How did he meet the needs of the customer, not inly did he do a great job

    but removed all the dents. I will never forget him and he will forever take care of my dings. Pretty simple really.

    I hope this info I have shared with you will be helpful and I hope you will share these notes with Mr Choung.

    I also hope you will use this in your ongoing customer service training of your staff. I also realize sometimes

    we all have a bad day, but you know sometimes we get one chance and in this financial climate I do not know

    many that can affordto miss the chance to keep the business. People can be like "which ever way the winds blows"

Finally, without me asking, she had one of the technicians check the oil level and top it off because she new that sometimes in between oil changes oil levels may get low. I am writing to thank BMW of Fairfax and especially Frankie Johnson for an exceptional service experience. This was my second time having my car serviced by BMW of Fairfax but my first time with Frankie as my service advisor. She was extremely professional throughout answered all of my questions in a timely manner and was able to secure a loaner car for me while my vehicle was being serviced. She dealt with the warranty claim with no issues and provided me with a comprehensive list of other items which should be addressed on my car. I've had experiences with numerous dealerships from all different marques throughout the Northern Virginia area and my most recent experience with Frankie was one of the best. It is refreshing to know that there are people like Frankie working at your dealership and it will have a big impact on my future automotive service needs. Thanks for the great service

Her patience, her ability to explain and her willingness to listen are exceptional. BMW should do everything to offer her a rewarding career. You probably don't know this but she delivered an item to my house one night rather than having me come back because someone else failed to close the loop on my service job. I don't know if you are the right person to tell, but if not please pass this along to whomever needs to know. I am only scheduling my appointments these days when I know she is in.

    For some time, I have been meaning to write you and tell you how pleased we are with our service advisor Frankie Johnson. She is just wonderful. Professional, courteous, and patient beyond belief with technical idiots like myself who are still trying to understand all the electronic features of my wife's 2011 BMW 335i.

    I spent a career in public service with the FAA and I know how spotty and begrudging service can be, and Frankie is an exemplar on how to do it right.     I'm happy to say that after having the car for about 6 months that I really feel it is the best all around car I've ever owned or driven. I even have a special order color picked out for my next one :)
